Do you mean like a tourny trail? Like certain lakes are fished by all? I would be willing to come up with something if there is enough intrest.  ;D

Yes pick certain lakes at the beginning of the year,which would be 10,
Then if you want to join you pay a fee and who ever catches the most weight at the end wins.something like the Bass Masters..It could be bigger then Sebago turney.

People could get sponsors on there shacks,sled,atv's,clothes.we can look like Professional Fisherman..LOL

I'd be more then willing to be involved in this. Maybe we could get a few guys as a committee and go from there. I'd say start with like 7 lakes and have the top 5 count, so you could miss 2 weeks for "life's events", kinda like the do in the bass clubs. Permits would have to be attained from the state, which isn't a problem, just takes some planning around other events/derby's.

I think this is a killer idea, another idea to throw in there is Southern Chapter and a Northern Chapter..  to make it possible for more people to get involved...  do 5-7 events, then the top 5-7 from each chapter, battle to be crowned the champion of the whole thing at a single event...  I think it would make people more active fisherman..  I know most of the time, we set and forget our traps... knowing all to well, that if your not catching you should be moving...  I think it would be neat if it was put together well....

That's the way I was thinking it, depending on the lake, would be the type of fish targeted...  take Moosehead for example...  if fishing that lake, it would be lakers..  set a bag limit..  either inches or weight.. Sabbatus would be pike...  Chickee would be perch..lol, and let the games begin...  only thing that is hard in the winter is culling your fish, to get your inches or weight up... just some more to think about...It's possible..

Yes that was my thought excatly.target different fish from each lake so at the end of fishing all 5-7-10 lakes we would crown the most well rounded fisherman per-say.and give prizes? at the end of the last Turney lake or pond.

each turney lake would consist of just:

Togue=lake x
Trout & Salmon=lake x
Pike=lake x
Perch,Pickeral,Bass,Crappie= lake x or some combination what ever works.
NO MUSKIE=sorry northern chapter.

And the North chapter and Southern chapter is a wonderful idea,not everyone can afford to drive 4-6 hrs every weekend to fish.and to compete.

And you could have some daily prizes for the people who want to compete but cant do all the lakes for 2-3 months,

Awesome ideas here!  Competition certainly helps get people fired up and draws attention (only positive of course  ;)) to the sport.  I'd definitely be interested!

I agree there is nothing wrong with catching,perch,pickeral,bass,crappie.the reason why we Fisherman go fishing is to catch fish.does it really matter what fish they are..Its all fun

This is one of the best ideas I've seen in a long time - Great way to get out, meet new people and fish different bodies of water.  I'm willing to assist.
