Pikeking...although I'm certainly no expert on the subject, I've just read that when you provide a water treatment like Ick to the water you should remove the carbon filter from the tank for a day or two so it can take affect. Otherwise is just gets filtered out of the water basically doing nothing.

Here's some info for you.

and a video with the nutty professor. Well thats what he reminds me of. LOL.

I did remove the carbon filters and just used the filter material. But that doesn't matter right now! I went in the basement tonight before going to work to put some laundry in the dryer, and noticed water all over the floor. Either one of the kids messed with something or a hose came undone. About 100 gallons of water on the floor!!! Yup all over,,, The fish have enough water in the tank til morning, I hope. I will clean it, fix it, and refill it in the morning. I just hope it didn't burn out the new pump. I will soon find out.
If fishing was work I'd never be sick!

I don't open water fish for pike only ice fish. First I don t brag ever last year I didn't get out as much . I hope you caught more then just them four fish.  I ve caught all that in one day I may have only two twenty lb fish. 44'' 22lb is my biggest. Then there the total fish I ve caught more 18lb  and 19lb then you probably could amagen. I do log about fifty days on the ice a year my days sun up to sun down. I have done this for the last twenty years. I m not to up to date with posting picture I ask Ron if would post for me and he made joke of it. That okay I m out of trouble this year I have twice as many day off so I think my odds of posting big fish maybe above average. Once do know how to do it. I m sorry again Pat and Dan. You guys are cranky but fun to fish with.  Later Bigbait

Its ok big bait, glad to hear you're out of trouble. Probably will see you on the ice, looks like you fish the same places I do. You got the same pb as me, only mines only 42"  :'(  I can only "amagen" what it would be like to fish with you   :P The pike would be in trouble that day...

The creek chubs were biting like crazy yesterday. We put another 35 in the tank along with a bunch of common shiners. Gonna be great when we get some ice.

Ya might wanna make a divider for your tank, chubs will kill and eat the heads off the shiners if they get hungry. They will also gobble up smaller bait. I keep my chubs in one tank and my pondies in another . Feed the big chubs lil pin shiners til the water temps drop.
ya if we get on the ice

I don't know about that Capt. I have one spot, there must have been 40 tad poles in one trap. They are pretty big too. I was thinking about keeping them for bait. I will try to get a pic of them for you tomorrow when I check the traps.

only had about a dozen in the trap today, kept 6 and threw the rest back, since the were way too small.
