Hope you know you are gambling with that kind of attitude and might find yourself looking down the barrel of a 9.  I don't have one but I know plenty of fishermen who also have CCW's...

Are you REALLY going to pull a gun on someone?

Like I said, I don't have one but I know plenty of people who when faced with some billy baddass trying to fight them out on the ice that wouldn't be afraid too.  Thats the joy of a stand your ground state, people don't have to back down from someone just because they want to get physical.  I am a non confrontational person and would probably just move away or ignore them until I had to call the police.  Since it is also a felony to harass a fisherman in Michigan the bar for calling the cops is pretty low.

Hahah.  I hung out with a lot of hicks when I was younger.  Most of them have mellowed out but some of them are still a little crazy.

Were you following the thread?  Fishing doesn't lead to getting you shot but trying to fight someone on the ice for fishing to close to you might get you shot was all I was saying.

LMAO, are you some kind of dumbass?  ;D  I would spray paint "ignorant" on the side of my shanty if it would keep idiots from setting up right on top of me.

10 feet is far too close to be spudding or augering holes to another fisherman. Most places that I fish, if you rolled up 10 feet away from a stranger and started chopping holes, you would get a well deserved beating.

Not sure why some folks feel the need to be sitting on others' laps while fishing. Get out and explore a bit, find some fish on your own.

Just wow! Assault for fishing too close?!!??! I was going to respond but I have learned in my line of work convicts are a lost cause. Good luck! Don't forget Michigan has a CPL law, people are allowed to defened themselves against a threat.

Would probably be faster than using a spud!  I wonder what kind of bullets make the best holes in the ice.

Hmmm this is a good question!

By the way ful metal jacket rounds work best for shooting hols in the ice. Forget the spud, thats so old school.

Ones that threaten to use a gun over fishing, yes, I would qualify that as a morons behavior. I carry guns too, but never in a million years would I think the proper time to use it is bc someone fishes too close to me.

Or is that a proper time to use a gun in your definition?  Should I put holes in the next boat that gets too close to me also?

Well obviously. I hope no rational person would do anything like that, but if a situation was escalated beyond verbal confrontation you can bet your ass Im going to be the one walking away unharmed.  ;)

I don't think you guys are following the thread correctly.  I was telling the guy that was talking about beating someone up for fishing to close to him that one day he might find himself on the wrong side of a gun if he keeps that attitude.  At no point was this about someone getting shot for fishing it was about someone getting shot for physically assaulting someone.
