Hey Everyone

I hate to do this so late but would any of you S.E. shanty members mind if a N.W. Ohio hardwater addict joined the get together on Tipsico this Saturday. I am due for a day trip. I am sick of waiting for the big lake to freeze and need to get off the small ponds around here for a day or so. It would be great to meet a bunch of fellow shanty members. I will of course bring a tasty treat along. Let me know!!

Thanks Splash!! Is there direction in the thread some where on where we are going to meet, i see the lake on mapquest but need to know how to get to the bait shop

The more the merrier, take a cruise and come on up. Holdens Party Store on Milford Rd. in Milford is one place you could get bait. Other members can tell you others.

PSU, of course we all would love to meet ya!!! The easiest way is to take US-23 North through enemy territory (Yes, Ann Arbor

) then continue north to the Hartland/Pontiac M-59 Exit, turn right (East) for about 4 miles or so to Hickory Ridge Rd. Turn left (North) go for 6 miles and turn left on Desmond Rd (West) for about a mile to Tipsico Lake Rd and turn Left (North) go about a mile or so to the boat launch on your left.

Looks like we have 25-30 people and maybe up to 35+ with family!!! Sure is great to see all the support for such a short notice. Imagine what we can do with proper planning!! Really looking forward to meeting up with everyone for sure!! May need an extra grill if we keep getting more people... thats a good thing!!!!

sound like a good time i am still going to try to make it there but what time does everyone plan on leaving.

if your coming up US 23 rick's bait shop in whitmore lake is a good little shop....
get off at 8mile rd. the turn right on to Main street and he's next to the whitmore lk. tavern... in the bottom store or basement.... I think he open at 7:00am.

You can bring a pack of venison steaks. I have a couple packs and quiters got some.

10-4! Id bring some of my duck jerky, but i was chewin on a peice of it tonight and bit into a peice of #4 shot steel load

Bottomline will be bringing a BBQ, but if anyone needs a coleman stove let me know and I will bring it. Already have the bowls, plates, styro cups, and plastic ware.

Ill have the turkey fryer with the chili. Im also brining my cooler it has a grill on the top of it.

Fish, i am going to bring some marinated backstrap, is anybody thinking about sides, it sounds like there will be plenty of main entrees.

I was at Tipsico today. I was a little undergunned for the pike. Saw around 12-15 pike caught between 3 or 4 shanties. 12 fow water seemed to produce the best. See everyone Saturday.

Yes sides and more sides, so far I have venison chili, venision steaks, veni burgers and pulled pork. So if I get lost I wont die of hunger!!!! Now keep in mind beer is a side!!!

Watchout for the iced over boat ramp. A guy backed all the way down and had to spin tires for awhile to get back up. I stopped where the dock starts and was fine.
