MyFishFinder.com Just like iceshanty but warmer
The one I caught there last year was 22lbs 1oz so I put it back to grow some more.
i heard about a big brown caught there last week its not a record but it was huge some where around 15/16 pounds.its on Facebook somewhere.i dont mess with Facebook so i don't know.
I thought it had been drained a few times ? Did all fish survive? If they did it is possible since there is a good smelt population. A picture and entry to the state would be what we would have to see.
It was mostly drained both in the 1980s and in the early 00s. There was still water in it but it was very low. There were fish still living in what was there and it has been stocked since. The fish have had some years (almost 10?) to begin their comeback.
Is there ever any decent perch through the ice or just dinks ?
How's the ice after all this rain??
Fished the Res today 5 hours one 15" brown. The ice is horrible around the edge.
we got on today with planks. last day there for me. 14 tip ups we caught 7 browns biggest one was 23" 3 over 20"other 4 were between 15-17".jigged up some nice perch and one small mouth bass.we used smelt we jigged up for bait.we caught all the larger trout before 8 am.
Im confused by the end of ice talk here (not doubting just curious). How much was left? Looks like there is one more blast of cold for the next 4 days at least
Where do you guys setup for browns? Shallow water or deep? Just under the ice or on bottom? I've never caught one through the ice and made an attempt at Island Pond last weekend with no luck, but I have no idea what I'm doing!
BottomIsland pond is hard it's too noisy and busy there.Best bet for IP is early mornings be set up an hour before light
