Island pond is hard it's too noisy and busy there.
Best bet for IP is early mornings be set up an hour before light

Thanks for the tips!  We were there at the crack of dawn, but there were trucks driving all over the place all day.  Caught nothing but little perch and 2 of tiniest pickerel I've ever seen.

Did you set up on the bottom for trout on the res? Were you toward the power line? Close to shore or in the middle? And when you say the shores were bad was it cause they are letting out water or are they just soft?

  • Rather be judged by 12 then carried by 6.
Towards the left near the rocks
Water level changes busted up the edges.
ICE IS NOT that good be careful, or wait until next season.

We were there a couple of weeks ago before the rain and the ice, while safe showed signs even then that it wasn't in a good way. I can easily see it being iffy now. I really did want to get out there again this year, but it's starting to look like my son and I will be spending more of our week off next week in the boat than on the ice.
May the fish be with you.

My dad and I have fished the res a lot, and the res does this every year weather it's warm like this or cold! They drop it ALOT! Which is a bummer.

Maintaining a level on something like that would be a real bear, and just a foot of variation is going to have drastic effects.
May the fish be with you.
