This doesnt happen every day

I put 3 tip-ups in and was working on puting the fourth one in and i turned and looked and i had a flag on my first tip-up(closest in picture) while walking to the flag the second one went off(middle one in picture) and when i got to my first tip-up i looked up and my third tip-up had a flag. between the 3 flags at once i got a 20 inch pike and a decent perch. then i put my other 2 tip-ups in.

this is what we ended up keeping for the day: 5 pike 20-22 inches and about a dozen perch. not bad for just a few hours between classes.

What college do you go to?  What lake is that?  Reminds me of Schroon Lake.

some pictures from this past weekends adventures:

a hang glider airplane thing that cruized just over our tip-ups

by 6:30 a.m sunday we were soked to the bone and being blown across the ice and by 9:30 a.m the 3 of us had our limit and were off the ice, however saturday, when it was 40 and sunny we fished for 12 hours and only had 2 legal fish. all and all a great weekend though.

got out of class a little early so we decided to go walleye fishing. caught three 16 inchers and lost 2 at the hole that were a bit bigger, and had 3 wrap my line around stuff(stumps/branches) under the ice. not a bad night though.

when we came around the island to where we were going to fish we saw 2 coyotes take off running into the woods. upon further inspection we found this healthy adult doe dead on the ice. the tracks in the snow told the whole story. the deer was walking on the ice and you could see 2 sets of coyote tracks running out from the woods and onto the lake and then the deer tracks show that the deer started running. there were 2 places where you could see where the deer slipped on the ice and the third time it fell the coyotes had it. all this happened just a little while before we got on the ice. the deer was still warm.

So you didn't take the deer?  That was smart though to leave it there as they probably would have killed another deer.  Might as well let them have that one.  Our Game Commission says they have little affect on the deer population, which is nonsense.
