I've heard that 1 coyote can kill up to 32 deer a year...don't remember where that fact came from...but gives a good idea of how a large coyote population can affect the population....Nice Pics... ;D

Deffinately close to  that but more often I see them eating carcass's as an easy meal because they can and do die from the deer- those hoofs will break ribs and legs.

Everything in that lake looks skinny.  Maybe they need to dump some gizzard shad in that lake.

got out this weekend for some splake fishing (my girlfriend outfished the other 4 of us that went). she caught a 16 incher and another smaller one. we had 4 total. still 16 inches of ice. this might be the last week though. I think i might leave the ice fishing stuff home after this weekend and focus on the the open water(what there will be). cant wait to try out the new fly rod though  ;D

heres another picture of the same fish

got back out again today for a bit before we lose the ice, tomorrow will be the last day for ice season(unless it gets really cold). I'm taking the ice fishing stuff home this weeekend so i wont be tempted to go anymore  ::) I did manage this nice 17 inch fatty of a splake today though.
