hershtown reservior?
« on: Feb 04, 2015, 11:28 PM »
Has anyone ever fished hershtown? I haven't heard if it's safe, or if it's worth fishing. Love to find places closer to Fort Wayne to try.

It's seasonal. Not open during ice season.

That would be some good ice fishing. It's been about 10 years ago that I caught some nice crappie and smallies in there. I heard that they had it stocked with the smallies. Never caught a good gill though, Anyone have recent success there?

Mounted a nice smallmouth out if there a few years back. Not a monster but a nice fish if I remember right.
I live in the midwest now but have fond memories of fishing in New England as a kid.

OK here's what comes out of Hurshtown. I'm not sure what the long skinny glass eyed looking fish are. Maybe some type of invasive species...

That would be a great place to ice fish! It's too bad it's only seasonal. I guess that'll make the fish hungrier for the spring.

I need to make an outing with you this spring stinky, all I can catch is mediocre smallie. I know where to get them but I've never had success. Never caught a crappie there lol.

I didn't catch them. I give the Amish kids a nickel a fish. More fun watching them riding their bikes with fish hanging on the handlebars!

Took a picture a decade or so ago of a buggy pulling a boat and trailer.  And yes it had a gas motor on it....the boat not the buggy.

That's nothing. I saw a buggy pulling a big fiberglass bassboat with a hundred horse motor once in LaGrange County!
