I wonder how many Amish are lurking on this forum?!

A lot more than you think!  I have seen dozens of them with smart phones in the last couple years.  They may not have a computer at home but you can bet they surf the web on their phones.

I have seen them hide vexilars in a second bucket they sit by the hole and only the ducer cord and ducer hangs out of the other bucket.  They must think they are fooling someone.  They don't do much hole hoping so unless you see them setting up or getting ready to leave the cord and ducer are hard to see.  Have also had them drill holes behind me at an angle, yet close enough they could see my FL20 and tell what depth the fish are running thru at.

There we go! Like van service that they pay for could offer fish spotting service or vex rental. They can't touch it but can look at it. I like it!!

Getting the signs made for the van today.  I wonder if Jim at PTO can get me a dozen vexes on short notice.  Got to get a big screen mounted in that thing to watch fishing videos.  Maybe a popcorn popper for a fresh buttery smell.

Depends on what their Bishop allows. I know some guys that are allowed on computers as long as they access them in a library. I know an Amish taxidermist that has a website. There's an Amish owned business in Ligonier that is on facebook.

Conversely there is a sect down around Monroe that is not even allowed to have covers on their buggies. When it rains they get wet. Told that to an Amish friend up here and his response was, "Well that's dumb!"  ;D

I live in the midwest now but have fond memories of fishing in New England as a kid.

IMO if Hurshtown was open for ice fishing it would have unsafe ice most of the time because for one,the water levels change alot on there and also the lake is built up high so it will be closer to the sun and catch more wind...good place to work on your tan when it gets nice!!.lol

I saw some Amish use 2 big draft horses to launch a pontoon at Duke's Bridge on Waldron.  They backed it right down with no problem.
Catching the lunkers of tomorrow today!

Passed two beards at GSP tonight coming up the hill.  At least they didn't have to pull a boat to the lake.  They did have a real nice two man and a bucket full of minners.

Most Amish are allowed to use gas powered generators, motors and such! My parents neighbors have a great big generator to run their equipment and their household lights! Electricity is electricity! My dad hes funny...he thinks the Amish women don't wear panties because he never sees them hangin on the clothes line...funny stuff!

Hey there may be something to that. One of my wife's students swears up and down a skirt blew up on an old Amish woman in Shipshe and she had no underwear. Said it ruined his appetite for the day.  ;D

Seriously that may have been true in that case but I doubt it's usually the case. Perhaps the woman missed her wash day and ran out of clean underware! Been known to go commando myself until I get them out of the dryer!

As far as electricity the ones up here can use it as long as they produce it themselves and it it doesn't come in from the outside.
