Take the first Smelt ya catch and well every so often and bite thier heads off as tradition and after your drunk enough for the heck of it.  That's some fun times.  This is icefishing for y'all who aint heard of smeltin' during the winter.
Dont let the big one get away!

If you drink enough of that vodka you would forget about that fish and fishing would be that much more fun.  catch and release maybe shoot skeet with the fish that would slove allthe issues.  dead fish and relased for all the bunny huggers

Look em in the eyes and tell him to play dead or you will catch and kill his brothers and sisters.  :D

Seriously, I kill quick to reduce lactic acid build-up which affects the flavor of the flesh.  Most game tastes better when it's not stressed out before death.  Shot a cornfield whitetail once that had been chased hard and the meat was less than desirable compared to similar deer taken "quietly".  Same with the fish I eat. A good bonk between the eyes or a blade in the brain will make'm even tastier, I think.

We just ice em,,,however, the kids draw circles in the snow, and make 'fish libraries'.  "these are the ones I caught..these are...."  etc....Do brothers ever stop competing??  To me, alive or dead..doesnt matter, filleting perch is just like peeling potatos,,,just something you do....

fish are cold blooded they feel pain totally different and a fish has never told me im hurting it. they would eat you if they could they eat there own kind. dont think of the most humane way to kill them a pike would rip you up and watch you die if you were a fish. think about it.

Let em flop! My wife and kids enjoy cleaning and freezing the fish but on one condition and the condition is that the fish aren't flopping by the time I bring them home.

As for shooting fish-Bowfishing anyone? Fun softwater event on Saginaw Bay
