Well I hope not because it's private and enforced! It will be gone by tomorrow anyways. 3 inches doesn't hold up well to 40+ degrees.

Yeah you got me man I know a couple private spots I fish with my buddy thinking you might fish the same spots. But the best I found was 1.5 in the middle narrow section of NPS pond.

no ice is safe. I've been on 12"+ of late ice and had legs go though while walking and had a friend take two steps on and went through in 4ft of water. Rest of the large lake was 8" of beautiful black clear ice. But also have fiahed on 2.5-3 " of first ice each year with out any issues. Ice doesn't form even for many reasons but I'm done beating the dead horse, I'm just tired of hearing what is and isn't safe. Only ice you are and are not comfortable on

my buddies just got me one for a wedding gift. cant wait to try it out. I am a huge a hole too so I guess it fits...ignorance is spreading on this site. 10inch augers are not dangerous, people who use them in bad conditions and don't mark there holes are dangerous and people who don't watch where they are walking are....well...never mind.

So it's not dangerous to leave a huge hole in the ice when snow or ice will end up covering it and somebody can get hurt, when you don't need a hole that big in the first place. And you can shove your ignorant remark up your ass!!

I had a big muskie on that I couldn't fit through an 8" hole when the ice was thick last year. I need to get a 10" auger. Do they make 12" augers? A 12" would be the best tool for the job.

you your self said that you don't know ice is safe until you step off of it. you walk out on the ice knowing its dangerous. Saying that someone is an a hole for using a ten inch auger is ignorant. believing that your opinion is right over someone else's I suppose is arrogant plain and simple. you don't have to agree with it, but to claim someone is an a hole simply for using a ten inch auger, I mean cmon man. im quite sure there are many people on this site who use ten inch auger some being my friends so forgive me for jumping to my own and their defense.
