You bet Gary. Guess what else is coming, scheduled to arrive around the first or second week of November? Hint: Has four wheels, floats and has holes in the floor to jig through.  ;D

sure hope we get early ice this year! I need to hit Wethersfield
Fishing is a sport in which thinking is involved it is the covenant between nature and man, mother and son. Through fishing only can we recreate the link that has been tarnished throughout the existence of the modern era of mankind. Fishing is the answer yet people ignore it and consider it a "stupid" thing to do. What do these people do instead? They stare in front of color changing boxes. Is that life? My life is fishin

Early ice, with you there Perch. Lets hope for late, consistent ice as well. Speaking of perch that is one big yellow girl in your signature.

Thanks Eiderz!

Caught that one in a special place in RI, now I just need to catch good sized perch in CT. I had good luck at Lake Coventry last year, and lots of dinks at Lake Tyler. Do you guys know of any hot perch places?

Sorry to say, I have nada YP spots in CT which is why yours caught my eye. If you want the big yellows on a consistent basis I suggest Oneida Lake, just outside Syracuse, NY. I've made several trips a year for the last five seasons or so. Unbelievable place, about 25 miles long and 5-6 miles wide, home of the walleye hordes and monster yellow perch as well as other species. All jigging. As you might guess, bugchazer has been there as well and is now officially hooked! ( We won't tell his wife) :icefish:

Yes it is.  Today and tomorrow are going to be in the mid 80s then after Friday the warmest it's supposed to get is in the mid 60s.  Looking like summer is having it's last hoorah.  Also the leaves have been slowly changing for the past three weeks.  Come on Jack Frost, we're waiting for you to get here.

Just read about global cooling. Yup, cooling for real.
This from a thread in the general icefishing chitchat section:

http://www.foxnews.com/science/2013/09/09/arctic-sea-ice-up-60-percent-in-2013/

I was afraid this was coming. I take full reponsibility. Icefishing in CT in June, polar bears in the trash cans. No more 3" of white punky ice in January, more like 3' of rock hard blackness into March. My wife told me it was coming too, right after I told her about the Wilcraft.  A waste of money she says. I hope she's right! ;)

You know bug, I was thinking that with minor mods a pontoon boat would make a hell of a sled. Pull it around with one quad in front of each pontoon, like a two-horse ice sleigh. If she insists on one with "all" of the amenities, even better! Nothing like a happy deuce on the ice. Jigging from six feet off the hardwater, man, we'd cut a wide swath!

Hey guys, relax. We are 2 1/2 months away from ice fishing. Do you open water fish, or just ice fish!? ;)

I'll launch my boat right up until the ramp is frozen. That's one of the best times of the year. ;D
