It seems like this year with this el nino and the warm December, theres been more people than ever ready to throw the towel in, myself at times included. Theres an extra day in February this year, so we got that going for us.

I hear ya. I just met a guy that threw in the towel and sold me his Marcum vx1 and like new clam 2000 shelter for 95 bucks yesterday.give me lemons ill make lemonade.hahaha.should be great deals on icefishing gear.

Im still hopeful that there will be ice by the end of January, and hopefully less precipitation so the thin ice wont get ruined.

24 and windy here, little skim on few channels, but looking at extended forecast that will not last!!

The single digit lows predicted by unaccuweather for January have vanished, I suspect the forecast will change 10 more times. Skim ice on Brighton millpond today.

heck they change the forecast at the weather service at every shift change up here in negaunee
the best sign so far this year is the trap on the shower froze last night

Looks like theres ice in Minnesota and its only 850 miles away. Closer than Florida, but might take longer with the potentially icey roads. Damn weather

they still running the car ferry out of Ludington? mite be worth a shot to get on some ice?

Was surprised to find Manistee Lake in Kalkaska County completely froze over this afternoon with 3/4" of ice at the shore.

Too bad it's going to be raining the next few days $:-\$

December 27 on look like colder weather is moving in it may hit us it may not... so don't put the boat away till you got ice! night time temps from December 27 out for 10 days is 25*f average at night...

that's what im thinking too.im rarely on the ice by xmas anyway in Allegan co .nobodys patient around here that's for sure though.haha.but ive made it out every year in Michigan for over 30 years.sooner or later..
