Fished Alton Bay for a few today. No real monsters, but plenty of them.

Not to get off topic but what's the deal with guys leaving piles of perch on the ice for the birds. Saw 2 piles yesterday and 3 piles today. If your gonna put them on the ice at least take em just my crazy opinion i guess.

They call them invasive species and feed them to the eagles along with pike, many pics in past years of guys that had piles of perch and pike( they spell out words with dead fish on the ice) left on for the eagles,it's really not very nice  to look at,so if you must please don't post pics.    Not calling anybody a liar but 19 inch PERCH may be a world record, you would think if someone did get one 19 inches they would have known they had something specail. A 15 inch fish is a giant .

Just my Honest Opinion, but anyone who dumps Perch on the ice is a MORON and should lose their licence !! It doesn't get much better then some fresh deep fried Perch fillets !!

Perch I think are native.... most other game fish are invasive. Bass, Sunfish, Carp, Brown trout, Rainbow Trout and a bunch of others... be careful about being a bucket biologist...

I know people get annoyed by them but it bugs me to waste a resource. It does feed birds, foxes etc but still. Just not my thing

Any warm water should have nice supply of perch. As for the big ones...takes time to find them...BUT some good places have been mentioned.

I personally hate catching perch, great eating for me, I hate they eat my bait. BUT I dont ever kill them just to kill them, that is wrong. If you want to remove perch, take them home and put in your own trash, dont mess up the lake and make the residents think fisherman are slobs and wasteful. It makes us all look bad, I dont care how bad perch suck, respect the fishery we all put time and money into.

Good Points SS.  I think that some people actually belive that it is good to feed the eagles, and maybe it is for the eagles, but dummies!....WAKE UP.............What do you think your preciouse game fish eat?  Take the Yellows out and the rest of the fishery get hungry

why anyone would take it upon them selves to decide what belongs in a lake or what doesn't, if you're not eating your catch, throw em back! eagles can fend for themselves

the yellows are some of the best eating fish you can get in fresh water they are a pain to filet but i do it anyway.always used small ones for cusk bait till they outlawed them.

I have this same issue, just with white perch... the cure is simple, just keep trying untill you figure it out. then be happy at how much it's worth it to figure out a new species

A friend talked to a warden on the phone while I was sitting next to him and he said they could be used for bait if they were dead. BUT he also said check with the warden in the area you plan to fish because they could interpert the rule diffrently.
