Go to Wally World and get your self a black-n-decker one from the appliance section. They may be 12 to 15 bucks. I've been using the same one since 1991 and have cleaned into the thousand's of crappies, perch, gills, bass, eyes, steelies and who know what else it's seen and it still runs like brand new. The blades that you get on them doesn't have a pointed end so you can't get out the eye cheeks with it but thats the only thing they won't do.

I agree with C.C.

I have used the "cheapie" Black & Decker for about 7 years now (hundreds of fish cleaned) with no issues at all.

I tried an american angler fillet knife once but the "rechargable" fillet knife died on me within two years.  Wont hold a charge at all any more so it was thrown away.

Another vote for the corded American Angler. Used to buy regular GE electric knives, usually burned out after one year. I've had the Angler six years now and still going strong. I use it hard too, not only filleting many fish but also taking corn off the cob in the fall for freezing.

Not all electric knives are created equally.  If you look at the shape of the serration it should be a shallow scallop for panfish. If it is to aggressive it just rips through everything. I've checked out the black and deckers and their blades are good. I've only got one hand so the electric has made it a lot easier for me to clean fish!!!

The same Mr Twister for the last 25 years for me.  It is bound to die, and when it does I will get another Mr Twister.
Fisherman's Prayer
I pray that I may live to fish
          Until my dying day.
And when it comes to my last cast,
       I then most humbly pray:
When in the Lord's great landing net
           And peacefully asleep,
That in His mercy I be Judged
              BIG ENOUGH TO KEEP.

I'm into my 7th year with my Rapala 110v model. Put new blades on it last year and it cuts like new. It's been a great knife.

I use a Mister Twister saltwater Piranha for big Lake Erie Walleyes.  My rapala overheats when cutting through 1 or 2 thick 'eye ribcages.  It works fine on perch or crappie though.
