the fishing's been pretty good...not spectacular but I'll take em...especially since everyone seems to think I only know how to catch eyes on a river  ::) ::)



a 17, 18 and a hair under 20  ;D ;D

nice fish hunter!!! wish i could get some eyes from under the ice! i like to fish them in the river never got one through the ice, bet thats fun!!!!!! EYEFISHERMAN   D.T.

What a difference a day makes...marked tons but very few bites and they were just grabbin onto the minnow and not getting the hook. Oh well, can't get em everyday

Overlooked your first post on thread. I was thinkin you got em from the river, Ski. Saying that, it doesn't matter what anyone thinks about where you got em. At least your catchin fish. :tipup:
If you an your buds are out on that river ice, be extra carefull though. With myself being just shy of 300 pounds, I would never have the nerve to venture out on that ice on the river.

river ice can be fished relatively safely. You just have to constantly check conditions...shoreline s are the first to go just the same as with lakes as the current will wash sand/ dirt along them...the problem I see is most guys never bother to monitor conditions while they are out there, they go out, jig the same holes and then leave...thats just asking for trouble IMHO


As for todays report...came up 1 short of a limit but I'll take it as I only had 2 keepers on the ice before the battery on the Vex died...luckily they were all suspended around the same depth  ;D ;D

I started the day strictly artificials and marked a bunch but almost no takers....once I tipped them with meat they became a bit more cooperative  ;D

Had to show off my little guy! First one through the ice for me, although little, I was as happy as could be! I did catch a bigger one after this one but he escaped before I could get my picture with him. Both were caught jigging.

   Nice ski hunter, Never tried eye's hoping snagger would put some in the freezer for me so I could try some next time out.
