Lakeside is at 10 mile and jefferson, beach is at 16 and jefferson.....
I just went for a ride and there was one brave soul on the ice behind Ginos surf.
Looked like he was drilling through maybe 2 inches. He was only out maybe 20 yards.
Good Luck!

Went out this morning, fished in 4 to 6 feet of water had about 3-5 inches of ice.  Just off the beach. There was a about a dozen guys fishing at 8:00am.  Only caught 3 small keepers(7in) and 1 dink.  The minnows were injucted with MGH(minnow growth hormone) cause the were huge.

Ya, I think last year it took a long time for it to clear up. We got tired of it and left, checked out S.river rd and its still pretty open.

We should be there a little after 7. We usually stop at the Macdonalds before getting bait.

The ice left metro. We went out and the ice only covered 100 yards from the shore. We did fish but only caught a handful. If I remember right the samething happened last year.

Not sounding to good from what I have heard. I heard it busted up on the lake the other day but is getting better with these cold temps..... You could always try it tomorrow and if not good the back basins should be just fine.... A lot of zipped lips right now, that means limited ice usually and if you are on fish folks do not want 100 guys jumping their spot. Of course none of what I am telling you is 1st hand... Just hear say. I may try to go that way tomorrow morning and see for myself

i'm looking to head out Saturday on a canal which i would think would be good if metro is about 3 or 4 inches. my  buddy is supposed to check with his parents who have house on canal but i havent heard back yet

I went out this morning and the ice sucks. Its all chunky, some ice was 5inches some 10 ft away was 2 inches.  I caught nothing!  Clarity still sucks!
