Can't wait for winter.  Everyone is cursing me but I want snow and Ice.  I still have a couple things left on my wish list to get and got 1 ski-doo to finish tuning up before the snow flies but that's it, ready to go other than that.  Getting excited and hope to do a few trips this winter as well.  We normally either do my cabin at Pelican Pointe or a friends cabin on Katepwa.  Hopefully get out to a few more places this winter.

Has anyone been to Regina beach. Have they taken the dock out yet, if it warms up and maybe if the boat ramp melts off we can put the boat in for another go round before it's time to get the auger and the ice fishing gear out

Did anyone check out the Outdoor Canada winter 2011 issue. Saskatchewan lakes Tobin, Last Mountain, and Diefenbaker, named as 3 of 9 lakes in all of Canada for extra large walleye and northerns. See page 36, and 37.  I always knew they were there, haven't found them yet, although my brother in law caught a 13 lb walleye through the ice, off Kinookimaw (L.M.L.) a few years ago.   F.B.

Those lakes are published in a magazine every year.  I  think the few magazines out there are running out of things to say and just recycle articles.

We definitely need colder weather to get the ice on the lake.  Ski-doos are tuned up, ice fishing gear has been organized and tested, and my wife even wants to start coming out more this winter.  I'm not sure yet if that's a good thing of a bad thing but either way if she is with me I can't get yelled at for always going fishing.  :)  Can't wait any longer, please bring me ice.

Braved the nasty weather and went out to LML today, the lake was covered for as far as I could see. Big heaves and lots of soft spots all over the lake. The ice varried from 1-6" and its far from the best looking ice ive ever seen. Lots of snow on the ice, its going to suck for ice making. Caught myself a nice pike to start the season and missed a few, it was good to get out and test all the gear. With the warm weather coming this weekend I would use extreme caution going on the ice and stay close to shore.

I wouldnt count on 8 inches by this weekend but you never know. They werent so much heaves as large cracks, the ice is still very thin and the snow is deep and heavy.

You can see soft spots all over behind where we were fishing. We were only 20 feet out from shore and we were sitting on maybe 2 inches of ice. I'd give it a good week or so yet boys.

Was out today and not going back for another week.  I checked the point and then west of there and there were a couple people out and i checked the ice and it was no more then 2 inches with about a inch of water on top coming through the hole the guy had.

I will wait another week.

There was three inches at the fort a couple days ago.

Fished Little Arm yesterday. The ice is forming nicely where there is minimal snow (5-7 inches of ice). VERY bad ice once you find snow cover.
There must have been 10 guys out there, all fishing 18-19 feet of water. Not a bite or word out of anyone!

Road to Little Arm is not bad. Getting rutted out but ok.  Went to Alice yesterday in the wind. Only 3-4 inches of ice to the south of the launch. More ice to the North I hear.

Ive fished Alice for past week and there is way more then just 3-4" I was out in 30 ft of water and had a solid 8" of ice. Its the same all over there.
