A friend of mine from the DEC sent me the info on this pike a few weeks ago. Here is what the guy said who caught it:"45" long, 21" Girth, 25lbs based on a deer scale being the digital scalethat Will had up at the camp was not reading right, it actually read 25 thenwent to 17 then to 0, think we confused the digital scale:) so we all thinkit was around 30lbs."I'm pretty sure the newspaper got it wrong. Monster fish!
That picture has been making the rounds for years now. Every time it goes around it says it was caught at a different place. So far I've heard: Europe, Russia, Great Slave Lake, Lake Winnipeg, Niagra River...now Long Lake and Rainy Lake. I wonder where it was really caught!
