here ya go flag, what i use on all my steelie spin rods.  Main line is spooled with 6-8 lb gamma.  Then use a MAXIMA 4-8 pd secondary leader from a barrel swivel. If you're tying on a seperate leader for your hook instead of just running your main line STRAIT to your hook you owe it to yourself to use the MAXIMA!!!!  I started using the stuff 2 yrs ago and its an absolute GODSEND as far as leader material goes!

I also use the maxima 6# for main line and I usually move down to a 4 or sometime 2# leader of maxima but I thought I would try this stren 100% floro 4#. I love the maxima and I might move back to it. But I paid 12.99 for 100 yrds of the stuff so I think Ill try it.

I like steelhead fishin a lot I love gettin out in the driftobat pluggin for them. I like driftin spawn for them and even caught quite a few on the big lake last summer.

Caught that one plug fishin from the driftboat.

We were wondering about that 52... I dont think it was a skam, they were all late run steelies, but could easily have been a few skams mixed in......  Thats a big skam!! Long and skinny is usually a skam giveaway aint it?

Ya it is a nice one lol , I think you had a scam mainly because of the coloring most steelies that are in the river late will change coloring but I've never seen a scam that is dark and look at them mouth and the formation of the jaw a true mark of the skam.

thats interesting 52... Too my knowlege i've never caught a skam... But you make sence, the longer steelies are in a creek/river the darker the color they get...  the first and 2nd pic are the same fish...  All those last pictures i posted are all in the same spot, same river, same hole.  Notice how the other fish are darker... Just the one is bright... and the mouth does look differnt from the others. Cool, i learned something new today!!!  Have to inform my bud that he has caught a skam before!

I agree I ve been using it for a long time as well. Thats what I use on my charter boat as well. Im just thinking about changing the leader to florocarbon but still keeping the maxima for main line.

Maxima fishing line is the best mono ever spooled in my opionion!!!! i use it ice fishing aswell, 2# on all rods pretty much for ice season, dont really like maxima line over 6 lb though it tends to have lots of memory, if i use 6lb or higher i switch to suffix which is the best line going all around, there braid is rediculous and the mono is sweet to, try suffix if you never have,

I'm throwing a spey but I'd give up the sport if I had to give up my flouro p-line.   Don't really need flouro if you're in stained water.   Maxima is good Grand River line.
