The get together will be Saturday night FEB 21st, 2 weeks after the rotory derby on Winter Harbor, in Wolfboro NH its right off 28 before 19 mile on the left if your heading north, if your heading south its after 19 mile on your right, theres parking right in front of the harbor and plenty of parking right behind the museum across the street plenty of room for trailors and everything, we will meet about 1/4 to 1/2 mile in the harbor right in the middle,will all meet 1/2 an hour to an hour before sunset, please leave a message to say if your possibly attending or definitly attending to get an idea of how many of us there will be,hope to see a few of you there!

also anyone can bring a lantern it would be nice to have a couple out there light the place right up please right if you are bringing one when you say attending or possibly attending , ill be bringing a small fire pit if you want to do that your welcome to also thanks! hopeing for a good turnout!

half hour before sunset, sunset is 5:24pm the 21st so between 4:30 and 5pm, ill be out there at 4:30

I'm there. put me down for two, actually. Will bring two lanterns and food once we have a number attending. Also can shuttle people out with my atv. The cusk will have no idea what hit them.

cusk fishin its kinda like a catfish eel, you catch them at night you can have 6 cusk lines a tip up and a jig rod , there really tastey to

cusk lines are just basicly a stick with a notch on each end wrapped with line, you need a 1 oz or bigger weight no more than 6 inches from the hook and it has to be sitting on the bottom, and you also need your name and address on the lines, they sell already made cusk lines and just the plain sticks at bait shops

If my wife can get the night off I will attend. Always wanted to catch a cusk and tried a few times without success. I could bring a lantern, 2 man portable, small propane grill and some food. Ill also talk to my brother see if I can get him to go also.

I got checked by F&G during the derby & he pulled one of my cusk lines it had a large LIVE shiner & he told us to pull it & put dead bait on. He said we could only use dead bait on a cusk set up. I didn't argue but I came home & rechecked & cannot find anywhere where it says what kind of bait to use! It does say that any fish caught by jiggin or bobbing must be released, maybe the live bait is supposed to sit still!! I guess I'll continue to fish the way I always do but it would be nice if these guys would all interpret the rules the same.

yeah thats pretty dumb, you are totaly allowed to use live bait, the law states any fish caught do to movement of the bait, example - lifting your cusk line up to check it or moveing your line in any way, the fish must caught must be released . that game warrden should go back to school, i would have laughed at him and taken the ticket.

My family just happens to have a timeshare in Wolfeboro just off the lake starting tomorrow and ending next sun... got room for a couple of mainers? I've cusk fished Sebago and Eagle lake here in Maine, but generally on tipups, our rules are slightly different I guess? Setting up a cusk line as straight-forward as this thread makes it sound?

Will I find some reasonable day-time fishing there in the cove area as well?
