Hey choo choo can you show me how you added the springs to the ht's?  I prefer them they  go on and come off easy and don't ice up but it would be nice to have a little traction in back.
Thanks
Hi hardwatercrazy....I did not add the springs to the heel, they came that way, molded right in. I believe they are a new model by HT.
I needed a pair of lightweight cleats that would  fit easily over a pair of size 12  Mickey Mouse boots. I went to a bait shop here in New York state called Apps, and he recommended these HT's....and they do go over size 12 Mickey's easily. They are made larger than the standard HT's, and have the added springs for heel traction you are looking for . I Hope you can find a pair out in Illinois, if not, i'm sure you could find them online....only 15 dollars here in NY.
This picture might show you the springs as part of the cleat a little better

My boots on some ice... A line down a hole...Some fish on the screen... And a flag in the air !......Winter is Good !!

I use the ones on the upper right in the pic and love em.  Best grip I had of any, and they never fall off.  Also have a pair of the ones on the bottom, 2nd from the left, and should probably toss them out.  As you can see, they lose the spikes ( yellow discs) pretty easily and don't grip that great anyway.  My mother in law uses them when she visits now in winter and wants to go shopping, since they're good for parking lots and not much else

Opinions will always be vast.  I'm simply sharing my experience with a specific product I personally have donned for years and in many adverse conditions and they've worked for me.  I certainly understand you have your own favorite and that's Micro Spikes for you. For me it's Korkers.
