The not sleeping too well the night before because of the excitement and anticipation....kind of like when you were a little kid the night before Christmas waiting for Santa Claus.  :icefish:

It's tough to pick one thing, I agree with all of you but I'll have to say drinking hot coffee while watching the sun rise over the ice. Unbelievable!

The first good flag of the day. The one where when you get there it's just kinda slow rollin'.......

My most recent birthday was the last one I won't be 60; I see that and may as well wet my finger and stick it in a wall outlet. I get the same charge....  :tipup:

when my lab (wilbur) would start getting antsy near me because he saw the flag and i haven't yet and he would not go to the hole until i did.

i think going in the dark  with friends getting set and yelling fish on!!! watching sun rise knowing i got all day no work and good friends to bust with!!! ;D

My boys are 12 and 15, having them with me on the ice- fishing, eating, shooting the crap, some of the best days of my life. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

This season I will start a new phase of my ice fishing life that I'm sure will become my favorite. My boys are now old enough that my wife feels comfortable with them being out on the ice. This season I will become a teacher, can't wait to see their faces when their first fish comes through that hole.

  I have been ice fishing for 40 years now and I think my favorite thing is the feeling when i first step on the ice  I think to myself  Thank GOD I got another chance to fish on the ice
