Think ham soup is in order as I trimmed off plenty from the spiral ham
All the fixings are in the crock pot

Tried some new thick brat patties on sesame buns I found from a butcher place in Wisconsin....cheddar and green bell. Pretty tangy, musta been fulla beer.

Also had some of that seafood salad we were talking about the other nite, boy that was good! Not sure it was the best combo to pair up with tangy green pepper beer brats, though. We'll see in about an hour...

Gonna be my two-cheese cheeseburgers, mac salad, BBQ bacon beans, tall glass iced tea. If friggin' Spring ain't gonna come, I'll just pretend it has. Put out all the deck furniture and table and grills yday. 40* right now.

Stretching the burger a bit by making 1/4 lb patties instead of 1/3 lb. Mixed up a 2 lb batch of my burger recipe and punched out 8 patties, they went in the freezer and kept out 2 for supper.

*urp* Purty darned tasty, but wasn't thrilled with the wind and 43* temps. My little 1 lb LP grill wouldn't get up to the high temp I wanted to sear...used that instead of the other big ones. Was just about out of LP I think.

turkey season opened the other day here. toms been resting in fridge. doing the dark meat today. most people toss it out because its tuff. dont toss it! break down the parts like a chicken and crock pot it. put in beef broth, whole onion, rosemary, thyme, paprika, basil, season salt and pepper. cook it on high till tender(at least 4hr.). when tender remove and sort out the bones. it turns out like roast beef in looks, texture, and taste. your buddies wont know difference. and they will stop wasting the dark meat too! mine did. lol shrooms and ramps are up also. they will get fried and served up too.
