Consensus seems to be ...Slow fish'n this year...
« on: Jan 13, 2009, 01:38 PM »
Well seems everyone I talk too has the same thing to say. "The fish'n has sure been slow this year" "See lots of fish, but their sure not bit'n very well" I would have to agree for the most part. I've had a couple good days on the ice. I mean, who can complain with a 7# largemouth, 8# northerns, and a 15.4# cat. But for all the hours ive been on the ice it sure has been slow this year. Finially got a little wally the other day. So what is your expierence this year? :-\

I have fished Keyhole 4 days and Boysen a total 9 days both places were very slow for Walley. Ocean lake for 4 hours and iced four walleys. I am going to Fort Peck Dry Creek arm if it is not drifted shut if bit is will go to Hell Creek for a week or so. Will update you on the adventure.

Buffalo Bill was smokin hot the first two weeks the ice was good  20-30 fish mornings with most of them in the twenty inch range  Cutts Bows and Lakers. One laker 25"  I iced over a hundred in six outings!
Now the ice is GONE >:(
Warm wind + more warm wind = :(

I'm a rare dude that likes the trout, but slow fishing at Boysen started last summer for me. I blame it on the new high water after several years of drought. Lots and lots of new food down there. Now the results are starting to show in the fish. It is rare to catch a trout less than 20" this year so in effect the limit is one.

I have no confidence in the ice with all this warm wind. I am going to Yellowstone to play in the snow with the elk all weekend.
