Bare Hill ....BUSTED!!!

met up with Unoman,(karl) Stealth(jim) and Escape(brian) thia am. Munich (josh) was on the other side of pond with a friend. we had hopes of approaching storm, pressure droping fishing bonanza....

aahhh nope

first time in fishin this palce in 20 yrs no Bass were caught. karl, jim and brian jigged up some perch and blue gill, i jigged nothing. i suck at jiggin'.
some small pickeral and perch were caught on tilts.
Josh walked across the pond to see us. we debated whether he wopuld say they were out of bait or busted like us.....BUSTED.
He and his friend picked up and headed for Comet to fish until midnight...ahh to be young ..


highlight of the day was a decent size perch i caught.
13.5 " and 1.3 lb

pretty sad that a perch is heaviest of the day

That is definitely weird for that place, got to break the Bass jinx, go again tomorrow, least you guys got out

Unusual day for us at Bare Hill.  Extremely slow but still great to be out on the ice.  Better days ahead.

Nice Perch Lenz,,, we got a few of them today in Pittsfield. Stinkfinger had a trap with a dead shiner that must have went off about 20 times. The bait was missing it's head and still getting attacked but he never did catch the fish. I noticed that his hook was about 30 sizes to big and bright red. Do the red hooks help or hurt??? I think that sums it up for today.

Interesting question. I use the red hooks and have for three years now.  I really don't think they hurt.  Today was just a slow day at Bare Hill.  I have had many other good days there with the red hooks.  Just wasn't in the cards for us today.  Next time.

It was very slow. I was marking fish in 15 feet of water and they wouldn't hit the jig. They just wanted nothing to do with it. Atleast I had some good open fire cooked venison sausage. How did you guys make out Jigger?

same thing for me where i was fishing . plenty of pickeral but no bass.

Kenny called in Sick (he had to be wicked sick to forego fishing) so I had contemplated meeting up with you guys but decided to stay on my lake for the day.  Glad I did, I got more action than that!  Wow!  That sucks for BH.
