Just in case someone was checking, I am from Kingston and anxiously awaiting the season start. With all this warmth we've had this season, I'm more than a little cautious about venturing out on thin ice. I will be heading to Quinte Bay for the Battle of the Bay for round two of that event ;provided the conditions of the ice remain where they are at 10 to 11 inches. Hope to see some of you folks out there too. Cheers and have a great day with tight lines!Cadeuses
It was fun and thrilling until it did the usual pike roll over by the hole. It was also fun getting it through my iced over 6" hole! I augered it out to about 4-5 inches and snuck the pike through that! I was worried I would have to lip him to get him out
That's where my other hut is....don't bother, it sucks there JK, there are I think 5 huts there now, but I have honestly only seen anybody in one other than myself. Sometimes there is a guy in a blue tarp hut, and a couple bucket sitters show up on weekends, thats it. If you are fishing for pike, keep it away from the huts so that I can get the perch
Gents,I ventured out to Silver lake, landed 4 mackinaws and lost 3. I was the only soul out there. Ice is not bad, mostly about 11 to 8 inches but I did manage to find a spot with about 3 inches.. That is too thin for my liking, especially over 80 fow. All in all a great day, just wish I got out earlier.Hopefully we don'd get any rain tonight.
I'm actually looking forward to catching some perch myself!!
sounds good, SWMBO will be gone till wednesday.
