found some really clear ice yesterday,i'm standing on the ice over about 3 1/2 feet of water thought it was cool! :tipup:

I love fishing over clear ice, you can see the fish coming up. It does give you the willys a little sometime though.

As long as its at least 3" I'm a lot more comfortable on clear ice, you can see flaws, airpockets, pressure cracks etc... No surprise soft spots to swallow you up.

the ice was about 3 inches some spots had a little more but not much more then 4 inches :tipup:

Wow you guys are way behind on ice.  Ive been fishing on hardwater since nov22nd.  Driving out for well over a month.  Were sitting on 18+ inches of ice right now.  My sympathies go out to you ;)
