Nope, they only have the $100 motorized ones. These are like $15, way better deal.

ebay... WHEN you lose the rubber stopper or drop it down the hole (like i did my second day with it) get a foam practice golf ball, cut a slit for the cord, and use that.

I use a 2X2 with a grove cut in it for the cable to set with a piece of slat and a small c-clamp to hold it tight for mine works good.

Probably about a 2 day drive.  8)
Caribou we got. They aren't the toughest things to hunt though, unless you're chasing them with a bow.  ;)

Drifter,

I'm Canadian.  I bought the tripod and extra stopper from TheFish'nHole out of Edmonton.  Tripod was $15 and extra stopper was $2.50.  The lady on the call suggested getting an extra one.

Check out their website and then call them to order.

They ship for pretty cheap and no PST.  Was the first time I used them but their prices were great.  They sold me the Aqua-Vu Explorer 7 for the US price of $399 for $379Cdn!

Hope that helps,
Rover

Using this same idea, just buy the stopper and float that's used on the Vexilar transducers.

won't work... the camera will spin away from your bait. you need something in a fixed position to hold that pain in the but line in place. good thought though  ;)

If you can get bulk wire tie material use that otherwise just take some srting or heavy fishing line and tie the stopper directly to the tripod. Mine is fastened with about 12" of wire tie material so it can't bind when adjusting/maintaining camera direction. You don't have to lose the stopper.

Do you have any good IS friends from the USA?  You just need someone to re-ship it to you.  (We have to do that in another hobby of mine as a lot of companies won't ship to Canada.)  IF you do this, be sure that the person sending it to you checks off the "gift" box and put $0 for the items value on the customs decleration sheet.  This is an indicator to customs officals that you are not trying to importing the product to resell and they will likely not even look at whats inside... Also, it should prevent them from mistakingly trying to tax you on it.  (Products that stores import to sell get taxed by customs)

take a 10 gallon pail cover cut a groove to the center and use a spring clamp.  i own the tri pod works nice but i prefer the pail cover in my portable it covers the hole to stop items from falling down the hole
give a man a fish and feed him for a day teach a man to fish and his wife will hate you for the rest of her life

Plus I'm working on one that will attach to my milk crate that houses my electronics. (pics to follow soon)

LeBaron (Montreal) has them in there 2009 on line catalog, if you haven't found one yet, for 15 bucks. Only bad thing is you need a $35 minimum to order and it's order by phone only.

Ok, I now have two camera tripod type devices.  ;D
I got one of the ones in my first post off a member from Saskatchewan, Shawno.
Thanks Shawno!!  :D
I also have the one I thought up last weekend.
It attaches to the milk crate that I put my electronics in and is made of a piece of 1" X 1" aluminum tube and a measuring spoon. I am using the stopper supplied with the Aqua View tripod.
Here's a few pics of my creation.
