Trapping shiners
« on: Jan 03, 2009, 01:51 PM »
hey guys

has anyone ever added a scent to the bread when they trap shiners. i use the smelly jelly bass hammer in spring and summer and have had luck catching all species of fish, but not sure if it will attract them in.

I use rice krispies for shiner bait! It works great! Need to check your traps daily though. Also use it for shiner food, they love it, and have had great luck with it for the past two years.

A-Holefisherman, try switching to dry dog food like Purina Dog Chow. It swells up when it hits the water and gives off lots of beef scent!
Are you afraid to catch big fish?<br />I can help!
