Come on George, tell us how ya did. I used to get out there with Dick Chrysler years ago at the bay, the walleye fishing was unbelivable, flew over on the tri-motor Ford from Island Airlines (showing my age, I know)

KEN, HOW YOU DOING? GOOD TO HEAR FROM YOU.
CAUGHT SOME PERCH, NO BIG EYES. WIND SWITCHED
AND STARTED OUT OF EAST, AND THEY QUIT BITING. IT WAS LIKE SOME ONE FLIPED A SWITCH.
IT WAS A REALLY GOOD TIME, LOTS OF POWER ,POWER TO SPARE. YOU WILL LIKE THE FOX.
DO YOU HAVE A FULL GROUP, OR CAN I GO TOO?
KEN, HOWS THE MITCHLE AND CADILAC ? I SHOULD
COME UP AND VISIT YOU. SUPPOSE TO RAIN HERE, SURE WILL MESS UP ICE. MAN I WOULD LIKE TO GO NORTH,IF ONLY FOR A WEEK END. GOTTA GO.

HEY BIG MEAN                                                                          I'm sorry but I'm not Ken. My name is Ed, just some schmuck from Chicago who loves ice fishing especially in Lake Erie. I'm going with a friend but I don't know if anyone else is booked. I'm hoping with the rain the wallys will turn on. You don't think the rain will make it impossible to fish on the ice. Waiting to hear from ya! Thanks for the info.

Big Mean, I havent fished Mitchell or Cadillac this year at all. I fished Fife, Missaukee, Bear (Kalkaska cty), Houghton and Higgins so far.
Houghton has been slow except for hammerhandle pike. Right now smelt are really comming on on Higgins. I was there last night, there is a large "smelt city" shanty ville on the ice. Most people, including me, just drive out on the ice and set up the shanty next to the truck. There are about two hundred shantys with over a hundred trucks in the shanty ville, fishing in 50-70 FOW. I wont fish there until after the weekend, it is a zoo out there on weekends. The fish hit from dusk till midnight or so. I ususally fish till about 10PM.
The last few days its been warm here, we got a few inches of snow last night and it rained today. I still have a couple foot in the yard.
