How cold is too cold???
« on: Dec 16, 2008, 08:06 AM »
if you're planning on fishing and your buddies 'back out" because it's too cold, possibly below zero somewhere, do you still go alone? where do you draw the line and look outside and say, "hmmmm... the (insert_fav_team_here) are playing today, think i'll catch the game since laurel and hardy aren't going fishing with me..."   >:( >:( >:( :%$#!:

I have to admit that I do use a shanty now (got it last Christmas) and can't believe I used to sit on a bucket when it was -30.  Still better than shopping.  You know it's cold when the water in your holes warms your hands up.   Bottom line, no such thing as too cold, just need to find creative ways to keep your beer from freezing.

I asked the penguin and it seems to have confused him...I think he'd rather retrieve ducks than ice fish though...no matter the temps, the wind, ya, that's a whole nother issue.

Very true.  Nothing like chasing after your stuff across the ice to get you fired up at nobody but yourself for going out there in the wind!

No such thing as too cold. Thats why they made shacks and heaters. I can say that when it gets real cold I am not much for moving around alot. Kind of set up camp and stay there for the day.
Take a kid fishing, they make great pack mules.
Put the big ones back for another day eat the small ones.
