The Power Bucket!
« on: Nov 24, 2008, 04:14 PM »
Well guys! Here is my latest creation. The power budket. It holds my Lowrance LCX 28C HD, My TV, has four rod holders, a cup holder, a 12V outlet under the cup holder, a jig box holder, A chunk of foam to put jigs on  and 2 studs on the back to either hook other electronics to or as I intend to charge the battery.

Here also is a stand I made for my dynaglo. I added a 10' hose so the cylinder no longer has to be in the shanty.

I can light each one individually. So if I only need one on low that's all I use. An when the kid are ansy and the doors are constantly open I use both. Each head also rotates. I'm not sure on the BTU's but I use it in my one car garage to take the chill off.

Nice, I like it.  Do your batteries sit in the bottom of the bucket?

I have been having problems with the bracket for my aquavu breaking and was trying to think of a new holder for it.  I think you just created what I want and need to do.   Care to give any fine details on the bucket?

Great idea, thanks for sharing!

I have a garden tractor battery in the bottom of the bucket. The camera just sits on top of the fish finder so I can remove it if I am not going to use it. I used some foam blocks to hold things in place inside the bucket.

Is the camera cable just laying in there on top of the battery then?   If so, did you just leave some space behind the camera to put the cable down in there?

Is the fish finder mounted to the bucket, laying on the battery or held in place by the foam?  5, 6 or 7 gallon bucket?

Thanks in advance for the help!

The fish finder is mounted to a peice of foam in front of the battery. I used 16 penny nails put in on different angles to pin it down. The Camera it self has cable storage built into it's handle but I could have mounted a couple bolts spaced apart on the side of the bucket to wrap the cord around. I think the bucket size is 6gal. A 5gal just wasn't tall enough for my equipment. I will get you some more detailed pics latter this afternoon.

Right beside the bucket when it's on the lake. I call it lake ice ;D ;D Sorry had to.
A guy at work asked me once if I was going to put a refrigerator in my shanty. A couple of people looked at him and then he realized "ice fishing".

That is slick as can be mud. Nice work!!

Not sure what is more amazing. The amount of stuff you have on a bucket, or the fact you have it organized where i can see room on the bucket for more stuff.  ;D

now if you get a pantent on that power bucket you can retire and fish as much as you like before someone else decides to steal your idea and get rich off it.

The only thing that comes to mind mud, is that plastic jointed product they use for directing streams of coolant onto parts being machined. No idea how expensive it is, but it sure is light and durable. You can also click the pieces together to make different lengths.

I'll be danged if i can remeber what it's called.

EDIT: Loc-Line is what it's called. http://www.modularhose.com/  McMaster-Carr also sells it.

That's kinda what I was thinking. A little more durable than plastic though. I'm sure I'll come across something. I'm not in a rush.

I've got a few old school flexible cell phone mounts kicking around work, new in the bag. Made of that flexible metal that looks like a pay phone cord, with a square base on each end.

I think they're around 8 or 9 inches long, and complete overkill for what you need. Or maybe not, you're already overkill.  ;D  I'll send you one or two if you think it's something you could use.

Trooperbri I appreciate the offer I'll keep it in mind. I haven't yet even started looking for the material yet but I'll keep ya in mind.

I was at Gaunder Mountain today and saw those vex lights $29.95.

I'm sure I'll be under $10 by making my own.

Don't be ridiculous.  That would never work.  Way to big

Now with a small projector hooked to your marcum camera.  All
you would need to is a white sheet on the far wall of the shack.   ;D

What I love also about the Ice Shanty community is the willingness to help each other. That's what make this the best site. And probably why I was on here all summer too  :)
