What else are we supposed to do while we are waiting for the ice to come. Although up here in Alaska we might not have to wait too long. The temp is 26* and the highs for the next few days is in the high 30's. Hopefully it stays this way.

Hummingbird had a bad reputation for a number of years, but now that Minn-kota bought them, it seems like they are really making a comeback. I've heard really good things about their new open water stuff. Be interested to see what you think of that ice unit. I've always been a Vexilar guy just because it seems like they have been at it the longest...but....

Hope Hummingbird gets it together. Put a new one on the Bass Boat 2 years ago, most expensive POS I've ever purchased, yet a pretty dash ornament.

Marcum or vexilar? I say what ever leaves more money in your pocket in the end. seen them both in action both mark fish the same to me. the only thang lacking on any of them is the beer holder! sure someone on here has already got one.

Yes sire they do. You can actually put two cupholders on it for two beers.

my vote is for marcum. as far is the beer holder goes i like to keep my beer on the ice that way it stays tooth crackin cold. by the you get an attaboy first one of the year to stir the pot.

I guess I have been useing a Marcum for a few years, I love it. I think the LX-5 is going to be my next one if this one ever wears out. The other ones might be ok but I have never had a problem with mine yet. I have the LX-3tc at the moment.
