3-29-08 good morning on Highland

  I got out around 7 am and off by 10 am .  I took the shack off on Wed. so I just fished out in front of our beach . I was alone today ,But had fun . I had about 10 flags today . The first 3 were little yellow perch  and then a few baits stolen .  I checked baits on the traps that had no action and the baits were gone there to . I rebaited them and the perch hole had a flag on it again . I pulled out a 16 inch brown . 

I had a few more flags with baits gone and started to pickup . The first trap I went to  pickup was the one I had no flags on all morning . I did have the bait cleaned off it once but no flag .  When I picked it up I could tell I had a fish on it . It turned out I had the line spooled up in the wrong direction and it was fighting the tripper so it couldn't get any line out . Up from the hole came this 13 inch brookie .



A nice way to end my morning . All fish caught were released . I'm going back tomorrow for the last trip of the year .

I'm ready to start trolling this spring . I practiced a little on the 4 wheeler today . The video is not that good ,But its my first try at video .

Nice fish i have to wait for the ice to go off here in North Dakota where i fish for trout and get some big ones while the water is still cold.  I have caught 6 to 9 pound rainbow there in the past I tried it through the ice twice this year and no takers at all.

you have to fish SHallow!     2-6 bfeet, rocky bottom

way to go gas , i`ve never seen a brookie taken at highland, wonder if it came up from mill brook, that whould be awesome to have a bunch of em in there, or maybe it was mixed in with the browns when they stocked it, needless to say awesome job on the catch and realese, maybe see you out there in the spring......peace.
