Late season ice pics

Jim C and I fished this afternoon for about 5 hours. It was slow overall. We caught all our fish jigging. We ended up with about 40 fish total with a mixed bag of perch, sunfish, a couple suckers and a 19" LM in the 4-5lb range.










This is my last trip on the hard water....bring on the spring brookie fishing!

This spot produces a real mixed bag.  5 different species yesterday.  Sometimes you can get some nice gamefish, too.  The bite wasn't as hot as it normally is by now.  The fish are normally stacked up under 14" or less of rotten ice by this late in the year. Right now there is about 25" of mostly solid ice.  Fish may be running a little behind schedule!

I cant complain, but usually in this spot we can jig up 10-15 fish per hour. This wasnt the case today. I probabaly jigged up around 15 fish total and Jim had close to 30, not to mention he grabbed the LM I caught as the hook popped out of his mouth right at the hole. Thanks Jim!
