Bidding a Fond Farewell
« on: Mar 17, 2008, 12:49 PM »
Well guys, sketchy ice conditions reported from Promised Land have likely signaled the end of the hard water season for me. So, I just wanted to tell all of the “last ice” guys to be extra cautious and to say “farewell to all” until some time in December when that first blast of cold air whips through the area.

Have a wonderful spring/summer/fall… thanks once again to the site Mod's, it’s been a blast this season (as always)… and now on to other passions NOT involving ice!  ;)

Nice Bushkill brownie from last May

Yeah I would certainly enjoy that! Here's another shot of that same fish... he has well-healed, but kind of messed up "jaw flap" likely from a previous encounter with another angler. It will be interesting to see if we meet again this spring.  ;)

It's always a sad time when I have to put my ice fishing equipment away!  :'( But I'm just going to concentrate on the spring crappies, now!! Until next season!!

Yup, the crowd on here has gone to other places. It was, for the most part, a good year, both on here and on the ice. I am hoping for at least 3 or 4 more days on top during the next week or so, but I must admit that with gas prices where they are, I am looking forward to launching the boat from the back yard, literally.
Thanks to all who provided info in the reports/conditions section and to those who engaged my mind in the general section.
Have a great spring/summer/fall and get ready for that first post about the long term winter forecast.

BTW Dizzy, that is a nice trout and a very nice pic.
80% of Americans are unhappy with the direction our once great Country is heading. Yet 80% of Americans insist on buying blue jeans that were made in China, coffee filters that were made in Taiwan and anything else that was made anywhere but here........wonder if there might be a connection?

I'd like to extend thanks to all who provided useful info, and especially to the mods who keep this place going. Thanks to everyone who released nice fish and kept only what they needed; may it bring you good luck in the future! Time to dust off the fly rod, and go over my soft water equipment. Be safe everyone, see you next season.
