The access to Hancock is questionable, only can really get to it with a snowmobile or if you know a camp owner, but i have heard that the salmon and brook trout fishing has been great on Hancock. Embden is a really unpredictable but there is a possibility for a large (10+) lake trout along with salmon, brook trout, smallmouths and cusk.

I've never fished embden but I've gone to Hancock and its pretty slow, but when i caught something it had some size to it.

I generally fish off the Embden boat launch in 3-5' of water. There's been some very nice togue taken all winter in the shallows by the launch but according to what everyone has told me it comes out to about 1&1/2 flags for every 6-8 hours . Same as last year . The locals call it "Empty Ebden" but there are plenty of fish in there according to the regional biologist , stocking report & Kevin , who lives at the hatchery who visits the ice on a regular basis . Caught the largest, fattest salmon myself in Feb. Last year ,i got my share of togue, all in the shallows but this year , not so good for me, although there were more people this year all around the launch & i saw some nice fish come out . Never fished Hancock . Incidently, the biologist told me there are very big fish in Embden . Good luck

I'll be giving it a whirl on Saturday up to the north end.  Gonna have a potato cannon handy in case the fishing gets slow. Will report back on Sunday PM.

Send a couple taters over our way in the morning. I love homefries with my eggs.  ;D ;D We'll be in the clam 6800. Fell free to stop by and say hi.
