At parts per billion/trillion I do not think we will notice.  Chlorine kills most bacteria at 1.5 part per million.
I understand their drugs, but where to drugs come from? Where do "they" expect use to get ride of our waste.  Any drug loses shelf life, maybe water will speed it up.

Maybe growth hormones will produce bigger fish!!!

Usually they want to call it "pesticides."  Wonder why they are spinning it that way?

I was told that some bodies of water located near college towns, biologists are finding a sex ratio in fish that is predominantly female. They believe it may be due to an excess amount of estrogen in the water, caused by all the girls on birth control.

If your town is all deep well they may not for their potable water supply. Just about everyone uses chlorine for their sewage plant effluent

Pooley, My military life (27 years ago) I was a civil engineer in water and waste water.... Thought you may find this interesting.  There is also a desalination plant being built drawing water from the Hudson that may be suppling you in the future....

Now that would be a good stock to invest in. There is only so much fresh water. Lets all try to keep it clean.

Yeah, and it has been said that the sperm count of us males has lowered over the years..for the same reason.  By my understanding, there is no known way to remove it from the water supply.  Possibly someone on here knows more then I do and can shed some light on this ...fact or fiction??.  Looking forward to a responce.

This is true. In the publication that I read at work " Chemical and Engineering News " they recently put a story in on this very issue. The synthetic hormone in birth control pills causes male fish to become infertile, at very low concentrations in the water. A major source of prescription drug chemicals in lakes and rivers is due to people flushing their pills down the toilet. Some chemicals, notably the synthetic hormone in " the pill " have adverse affects on fish at very low concentrations, the male fish in this case.
