I like the idea of those lakes in certain counties open until Dec. 31 now.
http://www.state.me.us/ifw/laws_rules/fishing/openwaterlaws/index.htmThe following are some of the more significant general rule changes
for the open water fishing season. In addition there are numerous
changes on individual waters. Please check the body of water you will
be fishing.
• The terms “trout” and “brook trout” now include Arctic charr ( see
page 11).
• The extended fishing season for lakes and ponds in Androscoggin,
Cumberland, Kennebec, Knox, Lincoln, Sagadahoc, Waldo
and York counties now extends from October 1 through December
31 (see page 8).
• Statewide general law regulations for bass have changed, the
minimum length limit on bass is now 10 inches. For full details,
see page 8.
• Lakes and ponds that had S-23 & S-24 extended fi shing seasons,
have now been combined into a new S-24 regulation (see back
cover fl ap).
