Corn lake
« on: Mar 09, 2008, 10:58 AM »
I went out fishing with salmon candy, holmes76, spike024 and his girlfriend (sorry can't remember her name :-[) Salmon candy go into the first fish which was a little rainbow, spike024 got into the next fish, 2lb brookie(salmon candy has the pic) and I got a 2 1/2-2 1/4lb brookie.

It was awesome weather and snow conditions were great until mid-day and then if you went off any packed down spots you broke through the top layer into 6" of water.

Nice Brook :) How did it taste?? I've smoked many varieties apart from brook trout so far. I really like kokanee and halibut smoked.

I don't know as I let it go. The only fish I have ever smoked is salmon and it was alright. I'm not a salmon eater anyway. I'm not into strong tasting fish but lingcod and walleye is another story! ;) I will usually keep one fish on a lake that I never fished before to check out the taste that is as far as it goes. I'll bet that smoked halibut and kokanee would taste awesome! Myself I tend to lean towards the fish with white meat compared to red or pink. I have discovered though all fish may not taste the same but they are all sure fun to fight.

I saw 2 big stuffed brookies in the C O's office today. One was 2 1/2lb male and the other was a 4lb female from a lake the started with the letter "G" (can't remember the name). :o
