Let's see...one night I never went to bed fishing was so good.  But to go fishing after sleeping I would say 1:30 a.m. ...for the early bite.  It is very satisfying to have your limt just as the first person shows up to fish.

bout 4am for the tourney's- I have a lot of animals and it takes 45 minutes to get them all fed and taken care of in the am, for a usual day 530-6am.  Unless you count gettin to work early so you can leave early and go fishin, couple nites ive left for work at 4am to leave at noon or so to go fishin

most places where i am you can"t start your auger until 8 am, which sucks so even though i usually awake and leave about 4 am to 7am depending on my destination.

The closest ice for me is an hour, so I'm usually up by 4, sometimes 3 if I'm going farther. It's the falling asleep thing that's hard when each trip is like a little Christmas and the neurons keep firing in anticipation.

Usually get up by 5:25 or so, like to be on the ice at 6:30. Sometimes, I have to go alot further to get on the ice, so Lake George trips require a 3:30 alarm.

I try to be on the ice at sun up no matter where I am fishing.  My partners do not want to leave early so I end up leaving ahead of them and meeting them on the ice.

I am defintitly part of the "B" team , the "A" team always up well before light to go fishing. Not this cat I take my time wake up when I normally do, get the dog out for about an hour or so (yep still chasing bumpers even in all this snow here ) and then get my truck loaded while waiting for a fresh pot of coffee for my thermos when thats done I am out the door.Usually out there by 8-9 am , no big hurry for me because I know the fish will wait to bite until I get there  ;)

The only exception is when I am hunting anything with feathers ( ducks , geese, and turkeys) all the rest of the critters can wait for me..LOL....
