Here is a photo of a nice tiger from last Saturday. To add info -
36" and estimated at 12 to 14 lbs because it was quite fat. It is swimming still in hopes of it getting to 20 lbs some day. Otisco Lake is correct. Caught on tip up with large Otisco shiner. Personally I think these big tigers not only have the shoulders of their purebred brothers but they are one of the sharpest looking fish out there.

Excellent tiger

Does charlie have some good big shiners or other large bait? I am heading out there tomorrow to pick up a dozen for the weekend. Anybody know of anywhere in CNY that you can get certified bait 6" or bigger?

Last weekend it was kind of poor?  He knows there is a derby though.  I expect that he got a shipment this week?  Will be stopping in on my way home to check it out.  You fishing out where you caught that pig a couple years back?

We will be fishing right where we caught 2 nice ones this year already. I hate the idea of killing one of these big guys but it will be fun to try and win!!
We do a summer musky tourney where it is based on total length of fish caught for the duration and you are disqualified if you kill a fish. Maybe I will get that once in a lifetime fish for the wall and kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

Tigers are by far my favorite fish.  Otisco is the only place I can catch them.  I am in search of a 40+ incher but my best is 29 so far.  I plan on making many trips there, Otisco is my favorite lake.  Glad to see you let him go, I think even if I caught a world record one I would let it go, it's a beatiful fish and a shame when people keep them since they cannot reproduce.

Muskellunge are a species unto themselves, and are a purebred fish.

Tiger Muskies are a cross between Northern Pike and Muskellunge.
