Fishing at Beer Can Lake
« on: Feb 17, 2008, 08:20 PM »
I took my kids, boy 11yrs and girl 4yrs, out to beer can lake today.  We had a good time but only caught a few fish.  We were actively fishing for larger char, which kept the little Kokanee and Rainbows and Char off of our lines.  We did have a couple rods with smaller baits and caught some little ones on those.  One of the fish was a black fish, which I have been told are good bait for big burbot and lake trout.  I kept the black fish and I think I will try that later towards spring.  there were about 10 groups of people fishing out there and everyone was catching fish, so if you want to get the kids out fishing this winter, you might want to give beer can lake a try.
