Aqua-vu Ice Pro Camera
« on: Jan 15, 2004, 11:43 AM »
Anyone own the new Aqua-vu Ice Pro camera? Are you satisfied and can you use it both inside or outside a shanty? Their add says for shanty use , however does it work satisfactorily outside? Am wondering about the viewing impairment if any outside.

I got one for chrismas and it works good both inside and out, its a little better inside then out, you can also use the camera in both down or sideways, I just put a small wide rubber band around the camera. I hate taking it out on the ice when I go with someone because I spend so much time looking at the camera instide of fishing.

Rat-man -

Would appreciate a review of the camera if you don't mind.  I'm probably going to get one when they go on clearance this spring unless I hear something bad about them.  Just wondering how they work as far as clarity/visibility, and if you've noticed if they spook fish at all.  If you find any problems or tricks with it, do me a favor and let me know.  TIA.

Am still in the shopping  mode here. Don't own one but seriously thinking of it. They are recommended for inside use but will show up ok outside according to the rep. They point down vertically , have 50' of cable along with a decoy fish. Thats all I know bout em. Reedsports has em for $ 270,shipped free.

I sold the DT model, overkill for me for icefishin only. Not interesting in trolling setup , my Hot R N R spoons donnot  need camera accompanyment. Camera takes up productive space.

I have the aquaview color and I have noticed that it DOES spook crappies at night...haven't had a chance to use in all other occasions though.

Yean I got one for christmas, disappointed,it says
that you can see with the light on at dusk and at dawn.
That light you cant see sh*t. I was fishing in a very
clear lake.I gave this thing many chances in all
condictions, just before dark you can't see nothing.
During the day the thing works great.

I did make a previous post and have had NO problems with my camera. It's the MC2x series. Not sure if that makes a difference.
