Ice Conditions #2

Ice conditions as of 3:00 PM 2/12/08 at the following:

West Hill Pond - Locked up, (but there is large open water section in the South Central part of the pond.)
Burr Pond - Locked up.
Hogback Res. - From South end near Dam to North, about 3/4 of Res. is iced. (Open water at the North end.)
Colebrook Res. - At the boat launch I could only see ice thru my binoculars from the Dam to about 1 mile North.
Park Pond - Locked up.
Winchester Lake - Locked up.
Highland Lake - Locked up.

12:10 AM 2/13/08 UPDATE
Winsted, Ct.
3-4 inches of crystal snow and now starting to sleet and freezing on contact.

Congamond, Mashapaug & Bigelow are also locked up

Where abouts do you get on the ice at mashapaug? I'm going to stop by there tomorow and see if theres ice just wondering a good place to check it out. Thanks

If the bite is on then anywhere can be productive. I tend to have the best luck right after the sun starts hitting the ice full blast like 10ish.  Also if you get the topo map of Mashapaug there is a good shelf on the first right-hand cove that you come to starting up from the south side.

And that is the last of the secrets I give....general info=ok; specific spots=get a rod and find out ;D

Black Rock state park 12+" . I saw alot of Bass and Trout onthe aqua-vu. Couldn't do anything right to get them. Total catch for 3 hours 1 decent Bass, 1 dink perch, and the fun of getting out.
Sometimes it feels like I live in a Pat McManus story!
