walleyes in the "king" what do u think?
« on: Feb 11, 2008, 06:39 PM »
i love lake george and have fished it all my life, amazing lake as we all know. just imagine if the state stocked walleyes in there. how do u think they would do? what kind of impact would they have on the ecosystem? i guess this is just a what if topic but all i know is that i would probably never fish anywhere else if i had the chance of catching 50 jack perch, pig walleyes, lakers and salmon all in the same day! what do u guys think?
Can I go fishing? Unless it’s on Brant, I can’t.

In a dream fishing world it would be amazing.  I have been saying that what if for years because I love walleye's.  But I bet they would have the same success rate of survival as the salmon seem to have.

You'd have the fishing mecca of the northeast!!  I'd love to see walleye in there!

would be wonderfull but would it work out well ???. by dumping in another species it might screw things up. got to be very carefull with these types of things. in my opinion it would be the crap if it would not have negative impacts on the great fishery that it already is.

I'm fine with the king the way it is, thats why we have other lakes to fish like the sac.

I say leave well enough alone.  Walleyes in the king might ruin a good thing.

I think they'd have a big impact on the lake trout fishing. I say keep them out!

all very good points guys, i think they would probably affect the perch fishing the most. next thing im gonna throw out there, do u think there is a better alternative than the salmon, browns or rainbows maybe? what do ya think?
