Anybody ever hear of this one?
Its poormans shrimp, and it actually tastes like shrimp!
This recipe is so simple, youll think it would taste like sh*t.
fillet the perch.
boil fillet for 3 minutes(in water...or maybe beer ;D ;))
Now, take a toothpick and stab your white fillet, and dip in cocktail sauce.
enjoy!

I'm gonna give that a try this weekend. Only fish I have ever kept are perch for eating. I let all the rest go.

Actually ling, burbot, or whatever the local name is makes excellent "poorman's lobster".   Boil fillets in salted water, dip in garlic butter, and enjoy.

hey cha-chi try putting the strips into ice cold water as soon as they r done boiling, this will firm up the meat and give it a texture more like shrimp.  fzr

Bushbunny's right about the burbot (or ling, or dogfish) they do taste like lobster but they sure the heck don't look like it! ;)
The problem with quotes on the internet is that they're difficult to prove.

Try boiling them in Sprite or Lemon up instead of water.Dip in melted butter while hot.It great for walleye or perch.I have not tried it with any other fish.

I have done it with perch and crappie.  I think most any white flakey fish would work fine........
