Would like to hear any comments.  Has anyone bought the suit in the pro shop?

Talked with a guy that had the IDI suit last weekend on the ice , he couldnt say enough about it .
It does look to be a very well constructed suit with a lot of easy storage !
He let me try it on and it is a very nice jacket and very light in weight .

I have the Strikemaster set and I'm very happy with it but you have to layer underneath according to the temps, last weekend I only had a t-shirt on and had the jacket unzipped in the tent without the heater on!

i have the ice armor suit and i need to layer up too, depending on the temps.  i only have worn my jacket about 3 times since i had it.  it has to be very cold, in the lower teens or single digits for me to wear it.  i always wear my bibs, though.

I bought a IDI gear suite before they were selling them here on IS.  I really like it ...havent fallen in yet with it on...but have been out is -30 windchill and sub zero weather fishing and it is Warm and light weight, lots of pockets... glad I bought it.  use to use a cabela's insulated gortex bibs and coat.  Only thing I would do different is buy the camo pattern...have the red one

This is my second season using the Ice Armor (Blue Suit) and I really like it for both ice fishing and late November fishing in the boat.
I am blessed to live in an area where the fishing is great and the people are nice!

it's a great suit.  i have had mine for 3 years and still looks brand spakin new.  my fishing partner asked about it.  i told him to save the money and you can just buy the pants.  i don't hardly use the jacket, only 3 times.  pants you can get at reed's i believe for 149.00  they are the samething as the arctic armor, but just pants.

I got the IDI Gear Arctic Armor suit this year and am very pleased with it. Very warm and well thought out. It's nice to know that the suit will float me just in case I ever do go through the ice.

I picked up the Ice Armor Extreme Suit (grey suit).

Like most, I've only worn the jacket a few times. Usually while setting up the shelter in extremely cold/windy weather. It's too warm to wear when I'm pulling my sled or sitting in the shelter.

No need to layer.  Plenty warm.

The bibs are great.  I like the belt.  It's a nice feature.  I carry my multi-tool there for quick access. The foam pad on the rear really helps avoid 'Bucket Butt".  The pads in the knees are great for kneeling on the ice.  The front pockets on the bibs are the perfect place to keep your Bait Puck full of Waxies.  Double zipper on the front so it's easy to relieve yourself when nature calls.

I've worn Carhartt's for years but these are far more comfortable. The bibs have stretchy material in the sides for a little extra belly room when your seated and leaning over your hole.
I would spend the money again. Great investment.

I wear the Cabelas insulated guidewear parka and bib combo.  It's very warm, no need to layer.  I like the idea of the floating suit though, especially for our region.

Ken, you lead the way from now on, I'm following you!

Thanks for all the info...  I should also have asked about sizing.  How do they fit for their sizes?

Artic Armour Red.  I talk to alot of guys and they want the ice suit....but they don't want ot look like a city boy.  So most of them stick to the carhart's.  I wore carhart's for as long as I can remember.  But I would not go back.   ;D

I just got an ICE Armor blue suit this year for $125. I really like it but it is definitely not the warmest unless you really layer.  I wore it one day when it was really cold and while I wasn't cold I was chilled at times. Now when I want to go out in the big chill temps I dig out the Carhartt Artic Bibs and Coat.

I basically got the blue suit because it was cheap and needed some rain gear.  If I'm out screwing around in the snow and thing I might possible have the chance at snagging clothes on something, Carhartt all the way!

I have had both the ice armour extreme suits. The grey is nice with the removable liner and removable bibs. The new one this year is great also but nothing is removable or adaptable. More warmth than what I need most of the time and the amount of pockets and storage is awesome. Sometimes I fill the suit with so much stuff I can barely move haha.
